Paradise Surf Camp offers new budget-conscious rooms after renovation

Krui’s #1 surf hotel reopens with new rooms, stylish restaurant and pool.

LAMPUNG, INDONESIA AUGUST 31, 2016 -- Great waves aren’t the only thing drawing guests to Paradise Surf Camp. A new restaurant serving western and Indonesian fare, an ice-cold pool, and brand new bungalows are all part after their latest renovation.

Co-owners Widya Astuti and Steve Beyatte celebrated the reopening of Paradise Surf Camp, Krui’s #1 surf camp since its opening in 2009, with a traditional Lampung festival. Members of the community, guests, and locals mingled in camp’s new restaurant while enjoying traditional Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng alongside western favorites like the double cheeseburger.

Guests praise the new offerings. Traveling Australian surfer Robert Ange remarked, “I’ve been to Paradise each year for the past 5 years, the new rooms are clean and easy and on the budget. You can walk to the surf, eat good food, and hang with the staff, paradise for sure!”

The renovation comes at a time when foreign investment is pouring into the Lampung region. A domestic airport is scheduled to open in 2018 along with many new restaurants and accommodations. What was once a sleepy, dirt pathway bordering an amazing wave is now a bustling zone for traveling surfers. Paradise’s renovations have been met with great aplomb by the local community citing new jobs and higher tourism capacities for the Tanjung Setia, Lampung region.
